What We Require

We run a small fleet and we keep the record clean, so we don't lease on everyone. These are the minimums, and they're checked before anything is signed.

You

  • 25 or older
  • At least 2 years' driving experience
  • A Class A CDL, or a non-CDL setup whose weight ratings don't require one
  • No DUI, ever
  • No more than two moving violations in the last three years
  • No preventable accidents
  • A valid DOT medical card

Your Truck and Trailer

  • Your own truck, 2018 or newer
  • Your own 40-foot gooseneck or fifth-wheel trailer
  • The straps, chains and tarps to secure your loads
  • The running costs of your truck: fuel, maintenance, tolls and permits

Pay, the cost of insurance and every other term of your lease are agreed with you on the call and written into your lease before you sign. Only what's written there can come out of your settlement.

You'll Run Under Our Name

Harblanc Services has been an authorized for-hire carrier since 2022, running gooseneck flatbed freight out of Houston.

Across our last 24 months of FMCSA inspections — nine of them, four vehicle and five driver — no crashes and no out-of-service orders.

That record is what makes our authority worth running under, and it's why we're careful about who we lease on. Our insurance is with Great West Casualty. Don't take our word for any of it — the record is public, and you should read it before you put your truck on someone else's authority.

Questions Owner-Operators Ask

Do I need my own authority?

No. You run under Harblanc Services' USDOT and MC numbers.

How is pay decided?

On the call, before anything is signed. What we agree is written into your lease, and your lease is the only thing that governs your settlement — nothing comes out of your pay unless it's written there.

Who carries the insurance?

The coverage on our operating authority is ours, with Great West Casualty. Which coverages you carry on your own truck, and what any of it costs you, is agreed on the call and written into your lease.

What if I don't meet one of the minimums?

Call us. The age, experience and driving-record minimums are firm; on the truck and trailer it's worth a conversation.

Can I book my own loads?

No. Our dispatch finds and books the freight and handles the brokers and shippers, so you can drive.

Do you supply trailers?

No. You bring your own 40-foot gooseneck or fifth-wheel trailer.

Can someone else drive my truck?

Yes. You can lease on with a driver you employ, as long as they meet the same standards and we approve them. We pay you, and you pay your driver.

What freight will I haul?

Industrial flatbed freight: pipe and pipe spools, valves, pumps, tanks, and crated machinery and equipment, throughout the lower 48 and dispatched from Houston, Texas.
